PRIVACY POLICY
Scott & Kraus, LLC —
skcounsel.com

Effective Date: September 18, 2026

SCOPE OF THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy applies to information handled through
skcounsel.com (the "Site"). It does not govern information you provide to the firm in the course of an attorney-client relationship or a prospective engagement, which is protected by the firm's professional and ethical obligations — including attorney-client privilege and the applicable rules of professional conduct — and by the terms of any engagement agreement. Using this Site, or contacting the firm through it, does not create an attorney-client relationship.

  1. OUR APPROACH TO PRIVACY
Scott & Kraus, LLC ("the firm," "we," "us," or "our") takes a deliberately minimal approach to visitor data. We do not use website analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies, and we do not track visitor activity or preferences. The Site does not offer online forms or collect information you submit through it. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information, and we do not monetize visitor data in any way.

  2. INFORMATION WE HANDLE

  • Contacting us: The Site provides an email address and telephone number so you can reach the firm. If you choose to email or call us, we will have whatever information you provide in that message or conversation. This information comes to us directly through your email or phone — it is not collected or stored by the Site itself.

  • Basic hosting and security information: Like all websites, our hosting provider (Squarespace) automatically processes limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the Site, such as IP address and standard server logs. This information supports the security, reliability, and availability of the Site; we do not use it to profile or track visitors.

  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use the limited information above only to: respond to you if you contact the firm; operate, maintain, and secure the Site; and comply with our legal and professional obligations. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or analytics.

  2. COOKIES
The Site uses only strictly necessary cookies — those required for the Site to function and to remember your cookie choice. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. Our cookie banner lets you manage your preferences and decline non-essential cookies, and non-essential cookies are declined by default. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Site functions.

  3. DO NOT TRACK
Because we do not track visitors or their activity across websites, there is nothing for a browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal to change. The Site does not use tracking technologies regardless of any DNT setting.

  4. HOW INFORMATION MAY BE SHARED
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for others' marketing purposes. We may disclose information only: to service providers that operate the Site on our behalf (such as our website host), and only as needed to provide those services; when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the firm, our clients, or others; and in connection with a merger, reorganization, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

  5. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

  6. DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY
We keep any information you send us only as long as necessary to respond to you and to meet our legal and professional obligations, after which it is handled in accordance with our retention records practices. We rely on our hosting provider's managed security controls and maintain reasonable safeguards for the information we handle. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding personal information you have provided to us, which may include the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information. To make a request, please contact us using the information in Section 11. We will respond consistent with applicable law.

  8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Site is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age specified by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws.
